Kerala Piravi marks the birth of the state of ‘Kerala’ in
India. Keralites celebrates this
day. The name Kerala was formed from the
term ‘Kera’ means coconut tree, and ‘alam’ means land. Keralam means, the land of coconut trees. On Kerala piravi day the spirit of Malayalam
is dawned in the heart of every Malayalee.
It is a proud moment since it is a commemoration of God’s own country.
Wadihuda Crescent English Medium School also celebrated
Kerala Piravi Day on November 1st with different programmes
depicting the love of Kerala and Malayalam.
The programmes were conducted and organized by the language club
(Malayalam) of the school. The language
(Malayalam) teacher of the school had given a full effort and support for the
students to conduct the programme in a well manner. The school conducted a
special assembly on that day. The entire
school assembly was in Malayalam. The
programme was inaugurated by the respected HM of the school, Mr Shabeer
NP. As an encouragement and motivation,
Shabeer sir also sang a beautiful Malayalam song for his students. He also spoke a lot about our God’s own
country. Even every teachers and
students took a special pledge on that day.
The other programs conducted were group dance, mime, Mappilapattu &
poem recitation by the craft & art teacher.
Students
and teachers were enjoying the programmes.
Even though, the programme lasted only for two period, it was a grand
success. That short period of time was
enjoyed by everyone, other than, any Art program or annual day programme.
Every
staffs and every students were free to move forward and present their
views and ideas in our mother
tongue. Everyone was proud to speak in
Malayalam as a Keralities. The Kerala Piravi
celebration will be a remarkable one in the history of Wadihuda Crescent
English Medium School.
