Progressive English School celebrated Kerala Piravi Day with an immersive experience for all students, organized by the Malayalam Department. The celebration aimed to foster pride and a sense of belonging by exploring Kerala's rich culture and heritage through a series of engaging activities.
A highlight of the celebration was the poster-making competition, held exclusively for students in classes 6 to 8. There are 14 divisions across these grades and each division was assigned one of Kerala's 14 districts to represent. Students showcased their creativity and understanding by illustrating the unique features of their assigned district. Winners were selected from each category, acknowledging the students' talent and effort.
These posters, along with various cultural images representing Kerala's traditional art forms, customs, and heritage, were displayed around the school grounds. This visually engaging setup allowed all students to appreciate the vibrant culture of Kerala. As students arrived in the morning, traditional Kerala music played in the background, setting a welcoming and festive tone for the day.
The celebration continued with a special assembly, Mr. Pavithran R.C. delivered a heartfelt message, encouraging students to embrace unity, cultural awareness and social responsibility. The speeches and facts about Kerala's history provided students with deeper insights into the state's cultural legacy. An interactive quiz program kept students engaged, with questions displayed and students submitting their answers on paper, which added an enjoyable and educational element to the celebration.
In the primary section, an exhibition displayed cultural artifacts and exhibits on Kerala's history, allowing younger students to visually connect with the region's heritage.
