On January 25th, 2025, our 4th semester BSc Psychology students embarked on an enlightening institutional visit to the Akkara Foundation Centre for Child Development. This excursion provided a unique opportunity for students to gain firsthand insight into the inner workings of a renowned institution dedicated to child development.
During the visit, students were treated to a comprehensive overview of the foundation's history, mission, and values.
Following the introduction, the Head of the Department of Psychology delivered an engaging class on various case studies and treatment approaches. This interactive session encouraged students to think critically about the complexities of child development and the importance of evidence-based interventions.
The visit culminated in a guided tour of the institution, providing students with a tangible understanding of the facilities and services offered. The tour was followed by a feedback session, where students shared their thoughts and reflections on the visit.
