Wadihuda Women’s Academe, 11th February 2025 – The Department of Psychology at Wadihuda Women’s Academe organized an enriching programme titled "Applied School Counseling: Turning Theory into Practice," designed to provide valuable insights into the practical aspects of school counseling. The event, held at the Conference Hall from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, aimed to equip educators and counselors with effective strategies to address the academic, emotional, and social challenges students face.
The session began with a prayer by Ms. Safana, setting a reflective tone. Mr. Sahad Keyi, Head & Assistant Professor of the Department of Psychology, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of integrating practical knowledge in school counseling. Mr. Muhammed Muhsin C A, Principal of Wadihuda Women’s Academe, in his presidential address, highlighted the critical role of mental health support in schools and appreciated the department’s initiative.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Mr. N M Moosa, Manager of Wadihuda Women’s Academe, who emphasized the institution's commitment to fostering professional development in psychology and counseling.
The key session was led by Ms. Lamees K P, an expert School Counselor and Special Educator. Drawing from her extensive experience, Ms. Lamees guided attendees through real-life counseling scenarios, intervention strategies, and mental health support techniques. Her interactive session featured case studies, role-playing exercises, and problem-solving scenarios, providing actionable insights for the participants.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Neethu, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, the resource person, and participants for their valuable contributions. Certificates of participation were distributed by Mr. Muhammed Muhsin C A.
