On 18th December 2024, Ms. Lamees, councilor, Progressive English School, handled a class on the behavioural changes in children who are subjected to sexual abuse and sexual harassment. She also highlighted on the emotional behaviours these children exhibit like bed wetting unexpected changes in sleep or appetite, new fears particularly of a person or people and emotional behaviours like depression, anxiety and anger etc. Teachers and parents should be able to identify these warning signs and act accordingly. Many a times they never tell to anyone and keep it secret all their lives if the abuse is from a close relative. We have to respond and be supportive to them and face the problem with care and urgency.
