The PG Department of Psychology, WIRAS , organized an institutional visit for final year degree students to the esteemed Akkara Foundation in Kasaragod on 07.09.24. Akkara Foundation, a renowned organization dedicated to the development of physically and mentally challenged children, provided a valuable opportunity for students to observe firsthand the innovative approaches and therapeutic techniques employed in their rehabilitation programs. The visit encompassed a comprehensive tour of the foundation's facilities, different departments, therapy rooms and tools. Students interacted with the department heads, learned about their unique roles, and gained insights into the challenges and rewards of working in the field of special education. The visit proved to be an enriching experience, fostering empathy, understanding, and a deeper appreciation for the vital role played by organizations like Akkara Foundation in society. The team was accompanied by Miss Fathima and Miss Akhila ( Asst. Professors, WIRAS).
