In celebration of World Youth Skills Day, Progressive English School organized an insightful industrial visit on 20th July 2024, Wednesday, to ITI Wadihuda. This visit was organized by the Social Science Club for selected students from Class IX, providing them with an opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to technical education and vocational skills. The students were accompanied by Mrs. Sadicka, Social Science Club in-charge, and Mrs. Beefathu, Head Teacher of the main section, ensuring that the students received proper guidance throughout the visit.
Upon arriving at ITI Wadihuda, the students were given a detailed tour of the institution's state-of-the-art workshops and training facilities. They were introduced to various technical departments, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Information Technology. This tour provided the students with a deeper understanding of the different career paths available in the technical and vocational fields.
One of the highlights of the visit was an interactive session with Mr. Adarsh P.P., Instructor in Mechanic (Motor Vehicles) at ITI Wadihuda. Mr. Adarsh shared his vast knowledge of automotive mechanics, giving the students a live demonstration of how engines, transmissions, and other automotive components are assembled and maintained. He explained the importance of precision and attention to detail in mechanical work and emphasized the growing demand for skilled professionals in the automotive industry.
In addition to the technical knowledge gained, the visit provided students with a deeper appreciation for the importance of practical, hands-on learning. The exposure to real world working environments helped bridge the gap between
theoretical knowledge and practical application. Students also learned about the importance of discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving in technical fields.
The visit concluded with a feedback session where students expressed their gratitude and shared what they had learned during the day. Many of them mentioned how the experience opened their eyes to new career possibilities and the importance of acquiring practical skills alongside academic education.
